FROM WASTE TO RESOURCES

At the end of their life cycle, many materials can be reintroduced in the production process to create new value, instead of being disposed of: just like that a virtuous cycle comes to be, where today’s waste becomes tomorrow’s resources, reducing raw material exploitation and environmental impact. Accordingly, other materials that cannot be reclaimed will be disposed of, so as to reduce pollution.

Thus, each material has to be treated with specific skills, machinery and processes. This is what we do with our environmental management systems for businesses, starting from the assistance aspect to optimize a conscientious and responsible approach to collection, to recovery and disposal processes.

Paper and cardboard
51,000 t/year

The management of paper and cardboard has always been at the core of our business: we operate as a Comieco platform, the National Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Cellulose-Based Packaging. Thanks to our fleet of vehicles, containers, and compactors, we provide a widespread collection service throughout Emilia-Romagna for companies, offices, shops, warehouses, and logistics operations that produce cellulose-based special waste.

We carefully sort each paper fraction and bale it using mechanical presses, so it can be sent to paper mills as high-quality secondary raw material. We also handle the shredding of confidential documents, ensuring that the information they contain cannot be recovered in any way.

Plastic and polystyrene

With proper recovery, plastic can also be brought back to life and made less polluting. Every year, we give new life to over 8,000 tonnes of plastic waste, such as packaging and containers, which we collect from all types of businesses—from manufacturing, industrial, and artisanal operations to commercial and service sectors.

As a Corepla collection center (the National Consortium for the Collection, Recycling, and Recovery of Plastic Packaging), we work to recycle different types of plastic that would otherwise be destined for landfill or incineration. Regular inspections by the consortium certify the very high quality and purity (over 95%) of the plastics we sort.

With our start-up In-ecoambiente, we shred and grind industrial plastics—particularly “hard” plastics such as bottles, crates, and containers—to optimize their reuse. We also recover polystyrene, using specific processes to ensure its proper valorization.

Wood and chipboard
25,000 t/year

We manage numerous types of wood-based waste produced by construction sites, manufacturing and logistics activities, such as pallets, crates, packing cases, discarded furniture, demolition beams, and chipboard panels.

For over 15 years, we have been partners of the Mauro Saviola Group, a European leader in the production of ecological panels made entirely from post-consumer material, and 50% shareholders of Ecolegno Forlì Srl, with whom we recover over 25,000 tonnes of wood each year, helping to save thousands upon thousands of trees from being cut down.

Iron and metals
7,000 t/year

Through dedicated services and trained staff, we handle the collection and sorting of all types of metal waste—such as iron, aluminum, copper, brass, and steel—originating from construction sites and manufacturing activities.

Through careful sorting and separation operations, we remove foreign materials, residues, and impurities. We also handle bulky scrap, using a dedicated shear to reduce its size so it can begin its recovery process in the best possible way.

Hazardous waste
600 t/year

Our facility in Forlì is an authorized center for the management of hazardous special waste and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). We handle materials containing polluting, flammable, explosive, or potentially harmful substances for the environment and human health, such as photovoltaic panels, contaminated tanks, hardware equipment, spray cans, and other special waste generated by companies across all sectors—from offices to the chemical industry, from agriculture to construction, and from textile businesses to the electrotechnical sector.

We handle collection, authorized transport in compliance with ADR regulations, storage in suitable approved containers, and delivery to authorized disposal facilities, relieving our clients of any operational risk and ensuring full compliance with European regulations.

Multi-material packaging
12,600 t/year

We specialize in the management of multi-material packaging, operating in full compliance with European regulations. We use a dedicated conveyor belt on which waste—stored by companies in an unsorted manner—is subjected to careful sorting. Our highly trained operators meticulously separate the materials, ensuring precise selection of homogeneous fractions.

Once separated, the materials are sent to authorized facilities for recovery or, where this is not possible, for proper disposal.

Bulky waste
6,300 t/year

Every year, we collect and manage over 6,300 tonnes of bulky waste from furniture manufacturers and production activities across all sectors.

Sofas, armchairs, wardrobes, and large furnishing items: we collect and transport them to our facilities, where we sort and separate the components and reduce their volume using a dedicated shredder, in order to facilitate recovery or disposal processes in compliance with regulations.

Construction and textile waste
1,600 t/year

Rags, offcuts, and fabric scraps from textile furnishing and clothing companies, as well as rock wool, membranes, rubble, glass, and other materials generated as waste by construction companies and building sites.

Every year, we collect over 1,600 tonnes of this type of waste and manage it through high-efficiency, high-quality processes, in full compliance with environmental regulations.
